Extra Moments
Thank you to every single person who cared for Jester. Your job is hard and you don’t always get to see the impact you’ve made. Jester had a lot of special “extra moments” from June to November. Advanced Veterinary Staff is to thank for those. Additionally, your kindness made this difficult period for me so much more manageable.
These moments included him playing and cuddling with me or his brothers (feline and canine), him comforting me when I got some really bad news about his progress, him playing so much fetch, him getting little treats like the bottom of the ice cream container, going on car rides, walks and celebrating his 10th and final birthday with his brother.
Jester was my protector, my shadow, my friend. He was with me my entire adult life. He made me appreciate small things like waking up in the morning because he was always so excited about the day. He was always patient and content to just be at home and around me, but I’m also glad he got to do more than that, and got to have a great and love filled life. Your treatment allowed me to really be present with him those last few months.
Your work matters. It’s hard, but it matters. I just wanted you all to know that.
Jester loved seeing kitties while we were on our walks. This night he spotted a halloween decoration and got so excited and proud of himself until he realized it wasn’t real. He also used to do this to a fake pig in the neighborhood. So funny.
He loved balls that made noises. This was one of the many many nights this last summer that we spent playing with his favorite things <3
